If you have yet to have the privilege to get 3 kids fed, dressed, bundled for sub zero temps, shoes tied, in the mom mobile, OH! and don't forget the school bags, hands washed, and in line for preschool drop off ON TIME without having to yell "don't run" more than 30 times in 5 minutes, then maybe this isn't the post for you, but you are more than welcome to laugh at my expense!
Sometimes it's not even easy to get myself ready and out the door on time, so adding the littles into the equation just makes the morning all that more "interesting!" Each time we pull into school I have to remind the littles to wait until I get their sister out, grab your bag, no running, hang up your bag and coat, and don't run. However, as clear as I can be apparently once those 5 year old feet hit the ground, all is forgotten.
My saving grace is the look in other rushing, flustered, and obviously just as frustrated moms in line for drop off. As our eyes meet we all seem to tap into some sort of mind reading power and know just how each others' mornings have gone...or gone wrong! As we anxiously wait for what seems like the magical gate to OZ to open, we all can regale in the crazy morning events, temper tantrums, or "phases" our little angels seem to be going through. These brief, yet often interrupted conversations are many of our only adult conversations throughout the day. However, they do bring some much needed sanity and understanding when we feel as though all faith is lost.
So in the midst of trying to wrangle our littles to wait patiently in line and anxiously await the seconds to tick down we are able to find much comfort in knowing that we are not alone and above all, all day Kindergarten is just around the corner!
Cheers,
Two thumbs up to all day Kindergarten! :)
